Today, we remember and honor the life and legacy of Pope Francis, who passed away at the age of 88. A transformative figure in the Catholic Church, he will be remembered not only as the first Latin American pope, but as a global spiritual leader who embodied humility, compassion, and inclusivity.

From the moment he took the name Francis, inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, he signaled a papacy rooted in simplicity and service. His commitment to the marginalized, his open embrace of dialogue across faiths, and his unwavering message of mercy resonated with people of all backgrounds—Catholic or not.

Throughout his time as pontiff, Pope Francis reminded us of the power of empathy, the necessity of caring for our planet, and the moral responsibility we all share in building a more just world. His courage to speak truth to power and his consistent call for peace and solidarity will remain his enduring gift to humanity.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his vision continue to inspire.
